I think there's been a misunderstanding, you're fine to link to Facebook but what was trying to be conveyed is barely anyone here uses Facebook/Twitter/Instagram so it's pretty pointless. Doing a giveaway to the forum will get you more goodwill and more people likely to visit your website.
