Tubbyengineers Health thread...

Yep, been told it's possible to only ever have one so I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed there. I was under a tremendous amount of stress at the time with a very messy divorce and I am convinced that triggered it. I have a friend who is a phlebotomist and she advised me to have the flu jab if offered and explained it's not a live vaccine. She said she never feels ill after having hers.

Thanks for your help. I can't remember, you are a nurse, right?
xx
You are more than welcome middy.
and yes, worked as cardiac specialist nurse for more years than I care to remember.
I've not been on the shop floor for about 6 yearn now tho, so am probably quite out of date . I went into the teaching side of things and then ended up in public health / health nazi. Sssshhhh :D

Oh, I get all the good ones. I had my first, and only, attack last year so they can't actually call it MS until I have a second. It's classed as CIS (Clinically Isolated Syndrome) at this stage. I had an awful time and was severely disabled by it but recovered well and only have one small lesion (area of damage) to my brain. But that's the only thing that's changed in my medical history and if the criteria has changed slightly then that must be it. Now, not sure whether to have the flu jab or not. I have friends with M.E. (not quite the same as MS, I know) but they won't have the jabs.

Sorry TE, hijacking your thread!

Hey its a health thread, where else would you talk about this? :P

Aww, thanks. I was actually just going to ask you if I should get a mod to delete my posts now that we're finished talking so you can keep your thread neat and tidy.

@Tubbyengineer. Tubs I'm sorry , -I've only just read your full post re feeling lousy after your flu jab. My earlier comment -'despite common parlance' was not aimed at you in any way.
Its quite normal to feel lousy for a day or two after the jab, and one of two things could be going on here
1) you were getting ill anyway
2) although as we've said its a dead vaccine and therefore can't give you the flu, your body still recognises it as a virus and creates the antibodies to protect itself, so this can make you feel under the weather. Generally doesn't last too long tho.
hope you feel better soon Sorry
