I'm making some pure billet box doors I've taken some days off this week but as usual lots to do at home well days off means I'm having Saturday and Sunday off, this will be awkward as some time off to me, means spending time in the workshop, door shut DVD on, no drama, no crises, no phone calls, texts, messages, visits, relatives, etc etc but this is a rare thing so fingers crossed,
so I'm sitting here and Liz has wandered by
"Thought you were going out" Liz
"I am, I have a load of deliveries I'm waiting on the postie" me
"well while you wait, the plug hole is blocked in the bath......." Liz
"k I will get to it" me
"and you need to this" Liz
'k" me
"and that" Liz
"k" me
"and the other thing" Liz
"k"
"oh and that" Liz
'K"
in the meantime have a gander at this
this is spalted silver birch seen it before?
seen mods knocking about saying?
"uber-rare spalted wood made into a mod after 3 days hiking we got some it's taken from the sacred willybong tree"
no its all shite spalting is just a fungus it grows on any wood you leave knocking about the place, the spalting in the block is just black lines from the fungus/mold, I know a brilliant cabinet maker who had to do some "spalting" he didn't have any so he used normal wood and just sprayed it with some Halfords matt black car paint and sanded it back leaving the lines spalting in can so to speak.
