Recently many fans tag us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social platforms, saying someone is plagiarizing VOOPOO Drag mod and the mod as the photo shows below sincerely copies our own work. For this, we made a professional comparison with these two mods, the mod, for the appearance, is 90% similar to VOOPOO Drag 157W mod.

The manufacturer of the cloned mod violated the intellectual property right of VOOPOO, and damaged our legitimate rights and interests. VOOPOO has a patent right for the design of Drag, for any actions of plagiarism and copy, we shall prosecute their legal liability and make a claim for compensation.

Our colleagues of marketing and lawyers immediately gather relevant evidence and required them to terminate the tort actions and cancel all the promotions of the cloned mod, and not to sell the mod in the market. It's a mech squonk mod, is it not? So it's not a clone by any means, it's just a similar shape. And, ummm...isn't the Limitless LMC mod also the same shape? That came out well before the Drag, maybe someone should tell their lawyers about your mod @VOOPOO [emoji38]

@VOOPOO i like the new black and resin drag and will be getting one, now onto this thread you have started. What i can't understand is the other mod has no chipset, thus how is it a clone or copy?. Ok the shape is similar but that can be said about many designs and types of mod. examples Smok alien, ipv8 and Joytech cuboid all similar in size and looks but all have different chipsets. Wismec Reuleuax, lostvape triade, thinkvape finder 250, Joytech rx200 series and the Modefined prism again all the same shape all with slight differences.

Now if the Mod you say has stolen your design etc, would that not mean the mod has got hold of the Chipset in the Voopoo and then made a clone of the chip, The chip is a U.s made chip like the DNA chipset by Evolve so even the Drag's Chipset doesn't belong to Voopoo.
As mentioned The Limitless LMC is the same shape as voopoo drag so Voopoo can't say the Drags shape hadn't already been used before Voopoo used it.

I will be honest here and say i don't think Voopoo would win any legal case on this matter because the Drag is a regulated mod and the so called clone is a bottom feed device or a squonker as we call it. which are 2 totally different types of vaping device, a squonker has a hole in where you press the bottle inside the mod to feed your atomiser, Voopoo drag does not work like this

Conclusion is Voopoo don't waste your hard earned money in persuit of legal action. Spend it on making more great affordable mods like the Drag

I think the Coilart looks quite nice and so does the Drag but they're very different devices.

Remember when apple tried to copyright the rectangular shape with rounded corners...hmmm this is the same thing, they call it prior art. In other words it's a rectangular box regardless of shape and colour, and it has been used before many times.

@VOOPOO you create excellent, very well designed mods at a very satisfactory price and they look good!

Don't lower yourselves to this, just keep doing what you are doing. The name is recognisable throughout the community and trusted. If anything protect the name, it is your greatest association.

They obviously pulled the photos, checked with their lawyers, and on the basis of what they were told, put them back up.

Doesn't look the same to me. Will this release effect drag sales? Not in the slightest. Different product, different audience.
