Why does everyone hate built in batteries?

I've been wanting to purchase a new mod to go with my SMOK R80, I won't ever need to go past 80w and probably not even 50w, so the mods I've been looking at are the Cuboid Mini and the Artery Nugget, but I've seen loads of reviews where people are saying to avoid them because of the built in battery, especially on the Nugget. Obviously my SMOK R80 is a mod with a built in battery too and I'm really happy with it... are non-removable batteries that bad?

Some people like the thought of owning a device for a while and swapping batteries once they run out (replaceable batteries) and some people like the ease of charging of just plugging the USB cable in.

There's no wrong in any. Enjoy what you have and what you like.

Nope, non removable batteries are fab. I just like the security of a removable battery for out and about and nowhere near power supply.

Ahhhh, so I should be buying mods + removable batteries if I plan to own a device for a while? As in, fixed batteries have a short lifespan?

As @godofporn said, everyone has differnet preferences, I personally have a few built in and a few removable devices, from the main difference I can see is that removable devices allow you to have backup so there's no downtime lol built in obviously you have to wait for it to charge and that will be time consuming and also meaning less vape time which is a no no !!! Generally preferences, some people don't like taking batteries out n charging as it's too much hassle but hey ho whatever floats your boat :D

ive got istick30/40/50 which all have built in batteries and they are all great and still going strong 15 months later. but when they do start playing up then they are ready for the bin as not a lot you can do with them unless you are good with soldering and find a decent replacement.
all my newer 4 mods have removable batteries as they are much higher wattage.

I've got a few of both, but must say my last few purchases have been mods with removable batteries.
Love and use my inbuilt mods but thinking of the future.

I have a cool fire IV + and love it for ease of taking to work and charging etc,

I also love dripping at home with a twin battery mod that kicks a punch,

I think both there places for me and as has already been said it's all about personal preference,

Really happy with what I have from both camps :)

Nothing wrong with built in batteries although the title of your thread will now inform Google searches and add to that myth.
You can get mods with built in batteries with power as high as a genuine 200W (non-replaceable lipo).
There are low powered mods with replaceable batteries.

Replaceable batteries give a user more control - be it for longevity of battery or for power. Stroll through the posts on this or any sensible vape forum and you will find people using "old" mods with fixed batteries for well over a year, perhaps two. Lots of vapers are handy with a soldering iron and do replace fixed batteries. If a mod has replaceable batteries this doesn't guarantee a long life for the mod. You're probably more likely to change your mod because of the features in newer more high-tech mods and the pace of change is very rapid.

To complement your R80, you don't need to restrict your search to a mod's maximum output. More sophisticated, reliable, more accurate mods with 150 or 200W outputs will enhance your vape even if you only require 50W.
Removable or fixed power source should not be an issue if the make is well known and well used. Buy whatever takes your fancy by form factor - how it looks and feels - or by price or by sophistication.
Happy hunting and happy vaping :)

I like built in batteries, they tend to make the mod lighter and they are convenient (love my Kbox 70) .... but eventually they will stop holding charge the same with anything ... I currently have a Sony Walkman MP3 player that won't charge anymore, it's about 4 years old though. ... so, you know.
