No. The chip limit I believe is 0.3 ohms but it would fire lower it would just possibly damage the chip and reduce its life. It will also fire batteries till they are flat unlike a regulated mod. I'd call it a mech it's not just a case of throwing batteries in and away you go. The only safety it has is to stop you firing batteries that have been inserted wrong And that's it.
It has a chip that regulates the voltage. So in a group of 2, mechanical or regulated it has to fall into the regulated group even if it has zero protection.
