Nic salts - have I made a school boy error

Hi guys and girls , first time poster, I've just spoken to a friend who vapes.

I said I was going through shit loads of e juice, probably a 10ml bottle every 3 days.

I'm using 10mg nic salts.

He has said I should mix the 10mg/ 10ml bottle with a big bottle of 100ml 0mg nicotine.

I'm new to vaping so don't really have a clue so any advice would be great

Hi mate, welcome to the Planet.
A 10ml bottle every 3 days is not excessive at all. Depending what tank you have and wattage you vape at will influence this. Some tanks etc use more juice than others.
I can get thru 10ml in one day sometimes.
With regards to mixing the 10mg 10ml bottle with a bigger 100ml 0mg bottle will give you 110ml of 0.8mg Nic strength liquid overall. You will be diluting the Nic strength of the overall juice.
It is cheaper to buy 0mg Shortfill bottles of say 100ml but you will have to add a few Nic shot bottles to get your overal Nic strength.

Yes mate. Nic salts are no different from freebase Nic in terms of mixing. Done exactly the same way.

Hi welcome to the forum are you vaping Mouth to lung or direct to lung? 10ml in 3 days isn't very much either way. You can mix salt shots into shortfills but the level your friend suggested is very low and would have you puffing away 24/7 to get your nicotine hit so would be counter productive. Stick to what works for you.

10ml of 10mg in 3 days is light usage to me, I think your mate means adding nic salts to shortfills and as someone has already pointed out the end result will be a LOT weaker so you will need to vape a lot more to satisfy your current nicotine intake.

Also shortfills are generally a thicker juice so depending on your current setup (which I suspect os Mouth To Lung - MTL) may kill your coils faster.

My advice is; If you are happy with your current setup and nicotine levels then stick with it, 3mg of nicotine in a day is low and a good thing if it satisfies you.

If our answers are confusing just say so, we all start off as you are so no question is daft.
(also let us know what equipment you're using for better advice)

Unless what your friend meant was to mix 5 bottles of 20mg nicotine salts into 50ml of 0% nicotine to bring it up to a 100ml at 10mg. That could well save you a few pounds over time but to be honest with the amount of juice you are using it wouldn't be worth the effort for me.
