May we have a PG-free subforum?

@jay2 fair play to you sir, I wasn't trying to play down your suggestion at all and apologies if I came across as if I was. @junglist will sort it out I'm sure

I have an intolerance to VG, can I have a subforum too?

... I'm still waiting for a proper 'Mouth to Lung' sub-forum too.

... a tobacco flavours sub-forum would be nice also while I'm here...... oh and how about a low wattage sub-forum?

NP :) I only picked on you specifically cos you were the last to post when my patiencecwith those sentiments finally snapped. And I realised that I'd better put my case a lot more stongly.
Apology much appreciated :) Kudos to you.

+1 for more specialist sections and subforums. As for 100% VG section I would find that useful. Mate of mine needs to quit smoking and tried vaping but clearly has a PG intolerance so he's using alternative NRT but I know he'd be better off vaping. I can mix him 100% VG juice but what starter kits to suggest are beyond me and as a beginner vaper I think he'd get very frustrated trying to source devices and juice.

This Is a great idea. I've been going round the (sub houses) trying to find answers. It appears I have a reaction maybe not an allergy to PG. I have found that Element 50/50juices(which incidentally I love) bring me out in a rash only on my neck and behind my ears. Which leads me to believe that they must be the most sensitive to the PG, I guess it would figure, if I had a real allergy to it then it would manifest itself all over. I've not tried 100% VG, however if I do 70/30 or 80/20 it's fine. Strangely enough even the element dripper range brings out the rash. I'm wondering if it may be something else. GP not much help. No allergy test just advised cut out PG. I would really like to know though. Nasty juice is perfectly fine and Manabush. Anyone else had a similar effect or got to the bottom of it. I did also have a bizarre anaphylactic episode after vaping one day. Frightened the wits out of me. [emoji51]

Interesting question. As far as I can gather , VG intolerance/allergty is incredibly rare (and almost certainly caused by impurities in the VG, rather than the VG per se) , but that's not to play it down. It must be just as big a pain as PG allergy is...well, apart from the fact that they don't put VG in asthma inhalers, so it won't stop you treating your athma.

I should think discussion of other allegies suich as that would be acceptable in the PG-free subforum. I'd rather not call it an allergy subforum though (not just to make that exlicit) given that there's a pretty strong agument in favour of PG-free juice , whether you're allergic or not , and given that suppliers of PG-free juice are NOT just marketing their product sfor PG allergy sufferers. They are appealing to a wider market. which trend should be given every encouragement.

Tough. hmm. Let's pretend this is a serious question, and answer it:

Would you quit vaping and go back to smoking if you couldn't get your hands on a decent MTL tank? (I did, when I couldn't get PG-free juice. No choice. If your ecig triggers your asthma, you literally can't vape the thing anyway) Do you have difficulty doing a forum search on "mouth to lung" ..or do the search engines happily accept all variants of that phrase as containing quite enough characters to constitute a proper word?

Unless your answers to those questions are highly unexpected, I submit that my need is considerably greater than yours. :D Not that i'd mind you having said subfora , should a serious demand exist.

But, then given their appearance in this thread, not a dedicated thread created by yourself, I think I can safely assume that you're speaking rhetorically.

Why ask for people's opinions if you're going to have a tantrum when you don't get the exact response you want from every single person? Nobody's been overly critical or harsh with you. You should have mentioned in your initial post that your opinion was the only valid one to have. Tbh, after reading your sanctimonious ranting, I'd be quite happy for you to have a sub-forum entirely to yourself :25:

Is it rare? .... I don't know, maybe we just don't talk about it enough but I've mentioned a few times on here that vaping anything over 60% VG leaves me with a very heavy chest and flemmy ... I know I'm not the only one as several people have mentioned it too. I seem to remember @ZT saying something similar before.

I wouldn't go back to smoking but I would quit vaping if I couldn't have a suitable MTL tank.

I have started a dedicated MTL thread, the reason I haven't started a dedicated thread about VG is because I don't find it that interesting, high VG doesn't agree with me, I know that so I start and participate threads around 50/50 liquids and the like...I don't really believe every single topic needs a subforum.

Allergies are not all that well understood. Also, there are other conditions (notably mast cell disorders) that can cause "allergic reactions" to all intents and puposes, even up to and including anaphlaxis, but by a different mechanism, so ypu get a "negative" on allergy tests.

Whatever the mechanism, if something is triggering the kind of symptoms you describe, you should definitely avoid further exposure. Theorising won't save your life.

And you are quite wrong , when you say " if I had a real allergy to it then it would manifest itself all over". For example, I once had an allergic reaction to a drug which only manifested under the wristband of my watch! It would probably have stopped there, if I'd done the sensible thing and stopped taking the drug. But I reasoned that it must be an allergic reaction to the wristband material, and continued to take the drug. Later (after being ticked off by my GP) it struck me that I tend to sweat under my watch wristband, and that our bodies excrete a variety of chemicals in the sweat. What a pity that I waited for a logical explanation to occur to my tiny little brain. . The all-over reaction, when it came, was extremely unpleasant.

In short, do be afraid. Fear is good for you!
