Making my own E liquid

How do you warm your VG up @StrawberryRipple? Do you use the sink method, or do you mix some other way? I read about someone (not you) who suggested microwaving it, not sure about that, although I suppose it could do the job :S
Tbh i have been noted to use the microwave but not very often and only ever on a defrost setting and only just plain VG.
Normally stand in sink half submerged and just give it a shake every 30 seconds or so till its moving enough to know it will mix properly.

If you've ever left your juice in a hot car in summer youll know too much heat can sour it.

You sure microwaving it would be safe ? I'm not so sure it would be , And wouldn't that heat it to much anyway?

Not remotely sure, which is why I’ve never done it :D On a very low power setting I guess it wouldn’t damage it - see @StrawberryRipple’s post above. I’m happy sticking with the sink method, with warm-veering-towards-hot water I haven’t spoiled a liquid yet

I know it it's not the best for small quantities, but I have all my (250ml), bottles marked so that I can just pour the VG straight in. Nothing worse than waiting for VG to make it's journey from one end of a bottle to the other. I also use 50ml dose measuring cups, free with every prescription, for measuring the smaller quantities of nicotine, PG and flavourings.
Mixing is something that will always take a bit of time, so shaving off a few minutes here and there is always good.
I might use syringes for making up a small test bottle, but not for a large batch.

Great advice on this topic folks! :nicethread:

....i'm defo gonna try mixing my own soon. Just taken delivery of what i hope will be my last order of premade 10mls of my fav adv. £120 quids worth for £61..tidy! But adding it all up - 400mls for £61 (nominal price £122), works out around £1.52/10ml (normal price £3/10ml approx).

Even including the initial extra costs of scales, a few PET or LDPE bottles, syringes (maybe) and all the individual ingredients ontop = i could make up 600mls for around .90p/10ml for my first batch..reducing down to around .68p/10ml, thereafter. No brainer! :)2

Now ..i just hope i don't bugger it up!

I think therefor, small quantities to begin with, is the order of the day, Dukey boy! :)2

My advice would be buy some one shots first , ok still not as cheap as it can be but you will get something that is
vape worthy and you will get a feel for how it all works.
Then slowly start to buy / use single flavours and mix your own flavours together.
TBH there is plenty of recipes out there to use and tweek to your own tastes once you start to understand how the flavours
work together.
For me i use this calculator as i find it easy to work but again plenty out there to use just find one that suits you.

When you vape it, VG is vapourising around 240c, so a quick nuke in the microwave isn't going to be unsafe.

Finally got most of my stuff delivered just waiting on a funnel and scales , but got enough to start my tests now fun ...
