First time...my instinct says tobacco liquid

So having decided to make the switch from 40 years of cigs to vapes I want to get it right. As a current smoker of Golden Virginia rollups, my instinct says go for something that at least vaguely tastes like regular tobacco to help my brain make the switch. But there is so much wood for trees out there, and most of the NET I see on Juice Cabin for example seem to reference cigar type tobacco. All very exotic and something I want to move on to, but not as my first stop as I'm afraid it will put me off.

So, any regular tobacco juice out there that is highly thought of that may fill the gap?

As a noob I may as well fully embarrass myself and ask another 2 silly questions; I smoke around 15 small rollies a day and not too sure on the strength I should go for as I've read lots of conflicting advice. I'm torn between 12 and 18mg. Any thoughts? Finally, I am thinking of the Caliburn G as my first vape. Is that a reasonable MTL choice for a transitioning smoker?

Much appreciated folks. :2thumbsup:

You don't need to go to tobacco.
I went for menthol first.
Been off cigs now for nearly three years.

Nobody can say what strength you will need to many variables.

I used to go through 50-75g of baccie a week.
I started on 18mg but fairly quickly moved it down.

You don't want to start to low as the cravings may not get satisfactory they need and can lead to fail.

Welcome to POTV.

There are lots of friendly folk on here with lots of good advice.
No question is stupid if you don't know you don't know so fire away.
Someone on here will know the info you require

Hi,

From my personal experience I can say I wish I found Juice Cabin in my early days of vaping. Their NET's are the best price vs taste . I was trying all kinds of tobacco juice and I just could not get past the chemical taste that most of them would give - the amount of juice that ended up in the bin is criminal. First NET I tried was Black Note - that stuff is gorgeous but pricey. I tried other NETs but nothing would beat Black Note - that is until I tried Juice Cabin. Since then I never looked back or tried any other juice so I can happily say I am settled with my juices now. They have so many flavours that its enough for me

They have cigarette tobaccos - if you tick the box you will get the options

This one is my favourite of them all:

Their Menthol Freshblast juice is my ADV

They have 3for 2 offer on on their 60ml short fills which I find really good value for money - I buy 6 bottles at the time for £40 so you get 360ml for that. Which is like 90p per 10ml

I vape at 3mg and I was never more that 6mg vaper, I could not handle the throat hit from higher nicotine juices

Also welcome to the forum!

Thanks guys.

@Mindeboy That's plenty endorsement for me as I was looking at JC anyway after reading great reviews. And yeah, I see the check box now thanks! OK, so order now placed. I know the Caliburn G is basic, but that's all I need to get started I guess.

@Fazz711 Thanks for the welcome and reassurance over dumb questions. Much appreciated :2thumbsup:

There are no dumb arse questions only dumb arse answers lol.

Never be out off asking saves a lot of time and grief.
Yes you will have to find your own way but can be guided in the right direction

I think the Caliburn G will be an ideal first time device - simple to use, and a good reputation. If you decide on it - 50VG/50PG juices are the ones to buy.

I used to be a GV roll-up smoker (about 50 grams a week) and the first juices I tried were 18mg freebase which I found really harsh, 12 mg freebase was more my level.

Personally I didn't like the few tobacco juices I tried, but found some fruit/soda/desert flavours pretty decent.

I recommend that rather than searching out specialised tobacco flavours - you buy a few random 10ml 12mg 50/50 juices in flavours you believe you may like (favourite fruit flavour, a desert flavour, a tobacco or similar), include a bottle of 10ml 10mg Nic Salt juice as you may find the smoothness and lack of throat hit easier to get along with than freebase which can sometimes be a little harsh on the throat. Normally you can find deals on multi buys in your local shops and online - if you buy a juice you don't care for you're only out a few quid.

All great advice thanks. I've got some fruity freebies from Vapeclub after placing my Caliburn order. It will get me started as I now take your advice on some pick and mixes around the 12mg mark. I want to try the Nic Salts so will include those.

And wow guys, just so friendly here.

We can all offer advice and recommendations but you will have to try it for yourself.

I would consider picking up a few different flavours, including a tobacco and both 12mg and 18mg. There is no right answer, we are all different.

I think nic salts are vile too, so you need to try that too.

Just start slow and don't buy too much of anything at first.

Thanks guys.

I think Caliburn is good choice to start with - I started with cigalikes and moved onto smok nord 2 and was looking into caliburn g as my next pod before I decided to go into rebuildables instead

One more share from my vaping journey - pods are easy and convenient but at the same time can be wasteful and costly. As I was literally trying juice after juice (sometimes buying like 20x10ml packs of samples) I was going through coils like socks! vape 1ml, don't like the juice, new coil new juice and so on. I tried using the same coil for different juice but if flavour profile was different just never tasted right. Also with pods - I don't know if its just me but they seem to absorb flavours too, used to wash them soak them but sometimes could still taste something from the previous flavour. RTA tanks might seem a big investment up front (it doesn't) have to be as per my example below ) but in my opinion is well worth the money - if I had to count how much I spent on stock coils and pods...

So based on my experience if I started from scratch = buy a pod mod that has an optional 510 adaptor (kroma z was in my case and z coils seemed to be OK). Use pods and stock coils to begin with to keep things simple. If you want to start tinkering with RTA tanks , buy 510 adaptor (around £5) and cheap MTL RTA - even if its ARES for £3.5 which is available online . My first tank was ares 2 and I rate it highly. If you decide RTA tinkering is not for you go back to pods using the same device. This is my suggestion of keeping things simple and not too costly - obviously other brands and options are available :)

The only other thing I can suggest explore and absorb information available on this forum - if I started my vaping journey at this forum I would have saved hundreds of pounds without a doubt!

Hope you enjoy the JC juice. I just placed another order for 9 bottles of the stuff! might as well just drink the stuff instead of vaping :)

There are other awesome juices (like manabush for example) and I am sure you will get recommendations so its up to you to keep exploring :)
