How to fix dead mod Lost Vape in this case

Managed to repair a completely shafted Apple MagSafe power adapter last week.
That was a complete b*stard of a job.

I expect the guys in the vids above would recommend removing the old solder first with a solder sucker
= then you'd get a better connection. I've done this and it's quite tricky at first though - also you indeed would need more equipment - sucker/ helping hands/ etc...

As you can see there is a sucker on my table.. But I didn't need it what was left on the board was minimal and the connection was made new by the melting of the new silver connector pins into the little remaining solder . So good connection was achieved.

Good job.
I wish I had taken pictures of my wismec predator 228 charge port repair after I found it on the charging lead
Had completely come off the board clean.

Stripped it down cleaned all the solder pads and refitted and resoldered

Works like it should

I only ever use it to charge in emergency
I usually swap out batteries with fresh charged ones

Great job - I love threads like these too. Always willing to have a go - nothing to lose if it's ferked anyway! :2thumbsup:
