New Government TPD Petition

Am I the only one who cringes when reading shite like that?

You certainly are not.
It gets pointed out every time it comes up that it isi literate, meaningless shite.
Some folk just sign anything without even reading it.

It is a petition against the tpd, so it must be a good idea to sign it right?
Not concerned about whether it makes sense, or has any chance of achieving anything.

totally pointless especially as implimentation is 19 days away.
oh lets start a petition it will work yada yada
its been done to death. the only one that got close and was discussed in the house of lords got us somewhere and then overturned.
companies have spent thousands upto hundreds of thousands to get all their juices tested.
do you really think another petition will overturn all this... no fookin chance.
do you think as we are pulling out of the EU will overturn this....again no chance.

the UK has had it easy compared to a lot of other countries around the world.
we certainly still dont like it but sadly we have to lump it. its now law.

It's not pointless. None of our petitions and lobbying in the past had any chance of success. It's about jabbing politicians to let them know we're still here and still pissed off. The Regs won't just get repealed as such, they might get rewritten to lessen some of the impact on vaping but there are much bigger fish to fry in the meantime. Preparations are already well under way for The [Great] Repeal Bill but Tobacco related secondary legislation will be very low in the priority list.
It's not pointless because it gives vapers a change to blow steam as well as vapour.
Whenever you get the chance (General Erection is looming), ask the political canvassers what their candidate's views on vaping are.
Incidentally the motion seeking annulment last year in the Lords wasn't overturned, it was withdrawn for political reasons.

I'm hoping, with the Repeal Bill coming up, we can at least get the TPD reviewed. We Will never again get a better opportunity to get this EU Legilsation amended to something thats actually solely beneficial as opposed to slightly beneficial and needlessly restrictive.

Just need to keep that pressure in place. If someone or a group could write something better (I know we have some smart cookies on here) that would be worth shoving some weight behind. Spread it far and wise, stand a chance of actually gaining some attention.

e-petitions are Parliament's way of keeping would-be troublemakers in their armchairs, safe in the delusion that they are actively participating in the business of government.

Someone has launched a new Government E Petition to challenge the TPD
There isn't a damn thing our so-called government can do about it because they are subject to the commands of a self-appointed higher authority.
