For drama & a lighter on soaking the coil & putting max watts through. With the cap off there's more air to feed the flame once ignited.

Back when i first started vaping and trying out rda, a friend of a friend once showed me, once he had rewicked and juiced the coil hed take a lighter n burn the cotton while firing. Apparently it helped bed the wick in quicker. Have no idea if its true or not, i tried it once or twice but i doubt it made any difference. It could that, they doing in the video
