What's new

【GIVEAWAY】Share your Story to Win LUXE II----When did you start vaping? Why?

I first tried vaping around 6 years ago, for me it was a bit of a novelty as id just vape when out as it was easier than doing a roll up while walking as soon as I got home I was back on the roll ups.
Then 18 months ago decided to see if I could cut down the amount I smoked by vaping and instantly was smoking half as much and in 2 weeks had stopped completly using a simple pen style vape with 18mg eliquid and gradually reducing nicotine strength. after 4 months I bought my first 'proper' mod, a armour pro wich I still use regularly and a zlide tank to go with it. Now I can't imagine smoking again.

I already won a luxe mod from you, so I don't really want to be chosen for a second one, but i do want to thank you so I will contribute to your contest.

I started vaping in 2010 with v2 cigs, which as you can probably imagine did not go well. Those types of cigalike vaping products, even at a 24mg level, just don't cut it when trying to quit on your own, especially when not really having any incentive to quit, which at the time i did not.

Anyway, to make a long story short, it wasn't until late 2018, when a friend gifted me an actual mod (even though it was just a smok stick prince) was i truly able to quite smoking. After over a year of suffering with that, i decided i wanted to actually try to enjoy vaping instead of just suffering thru it to stay away from cigarettes, because it was incredibly harsh on my throat.

Thats when i decided to get an armour pro, discovered how much better vaporesso coils are compared to smok coils and the rest is history.

Even tho i dont use my luxe much (i vape low wattage and use single battery mods, the luxe is kind of overkill), i have to congratulate you on the build quality, the design, they style of the color scheme, and most importantly it's use of the batteries. In the one you sent me it discharges and charges the batteries fairly evenly. I charge the batteries internally(against all recommendations) and find that just switching them from one port to the other every now and then keeps them pretty well balanced.

To whoever wins i guarantee that you will enjoy your new mod.

(P.S. please make the complete switchover to usb-c ports already, its about that time)

Thank you for the tag and putting me onto this thread @ForestMagpie, it goes so much beyond winning a mere kit.

This thread is giving people an opportunity to get to know each other in ways they ordinarily wouldn't and that's by far the most important thing here. It's also the essence of vaping for me.

Since I've begun vaping I can honestly say I've met the friendliest and most welcoming group of people I've ever encountered and have benefited enormously from it in many ways. Vaping has created a new community of people drawn together from all walks of life and each with their own story.

I have been isolated and socially excluded for my entire life but now have a community of people to talk to all without feeling judged.

Like many here my introduction to vaping was health related, but unlike many of the others mine is not only physical health, where I have problems with my liver and immune system, it's mental too.

As a man on the Autistic spectrum and sufferer of complex co-morbid mental illnesses, I used smoking as a crux and as a means of distraction from my problems and something to occupy my time.

I smoked when things were bad and stopped again when they were less so. They were never good and still aren't. Unfortunately they never will be either.

I was never a heavy smoker because I hated the smell of stale tobacco about my person but always craved to be. I scrub myself raw as a sufferer of OCD and I'd do so even more so after smoking. I'd have smoked 100 a day if I could've tolerated the smell but fortunately I couldn't and often went days without it.

Vaping has changed all this for me though and provided me with a means to 'smoke' without the smell. I still use vaping as a crux for my problems but also as a means of pleasure. I get to enjoy a plethora of new flavours and aromas all without having to scrub myself afterwards. This has been a massive boon to me and provides a means to calm my nerves and occupy my time, all without the health risks of smoking.

I now vape many times throughout the day and enjoy nothing more than a cup of tea and a vape in the early evening. I can't imagine life without it. I can't start too early though because my physical health won't tolerate it, but then I can't tolerate food or drink until late morning either.

The most satisfying part of vaping for me though has been the ability to convert others and potentially improve their health. Since taking it up I've evangelised the benefits of vaping over smoking to anyone who'll listen and have already converted my Dad from smoker to vaper. This means more to me than anything I get from it myself as having extra years with him will provide the greatest pleasure of all.

I now have plans to convert a childhood friend, and now next-door neighbour, too.

He has two young daughters (4 and 1) and I'd love for him to stop.

He's a good man and never smokes around them but it would still be good if their daddy didn't smell of stale tobacco.

As for me, I am delving deeper into the science of vaping all the time and already learning the intricacies of mixing and building.

Vaping has provided a window into both physics and chemistry for me and has probably taught things to people that ordinarily wouldn't have learnt them.

There is so much more to vaping than blowing big clouds and showing off.

The community, the science and most of all the health benefits for ourselves and others. I feel we are actually saving lives as well as learning and socialising.

We're also saving money.

I hope you're all getting as much out of vaping as I am and continue, or go on, to reap the rewards of them in every way - intellectually, socially and financially.

Most of all I hope you all benefit from them medically and go on to live happier, longer, cleaner and richer lives because of it.

Thank you all for reading.

Love, hugs, kisses and blessings to all of you.

i started vaping 7 years ago after having a heart attack when i was 44 years old i use too be a 40 + plus a day roll up smoker & started smoking when i was about 14 :( i had tried loads of time to give up the smokes using patches but nothing worked & then one day i saw a friend using a vape pen & i asked where he got his from & picked one up myself & it worked kind of at first as dual fuelled for the first 2 months & then one morning i woke up & just did not need that first morning ciggy, anyway roll on 2 years later i had been smoke free but i still felt wheezey & getting out of breath quick so my doctor arranged for me to see a specialist & its there that they found out i have COPD stage 2 eeek & asthma been told that was a shock but i carried on with vaping & to this day i use 3mg shortfills, know as it stands my health is alot better thanks too vaping i can walk my dog with out running out of steam & i took up cycling something i really loved doing in my youth thanks to ebikes, i can honestly say vaping saved my life & if i had not started vaping & carried on smoking i would not be here today to write my story :D

Thanks for the tag @ForestMagpie

My story is actually quite boring, my wife and I were both smoking so much at the end and spending ridiculous amounts of money on tobacco, our children commented one night about how much our house smelt of cigarettes and it hurt us to think of the effect our smoking was having on them... I visited the vape shop for the first time the next day and have never smoked another cigarette since, that was around a year ago. Since then I have slowly progressed from an ex smoker into what I consider to be a hobbyist, I love tinkering around with tanks, coils, cotton etc... I can honestly say I have never looked back.

Thanks for the opportunity @Vaporesso

I started around 7 or 8 years ago, first off using those ego pen cig things, used them for a couple of years and then moved house and was near a different vape shop where I bought a greensound pen type thing, I loved that with its variable voltage and around 5ml tank, had that for a while, thought I should be making big clouds though so tried a coolfire plus with an isub tank, 0.5 ohm coil and decent clouds, thought I was cool as...... then progressed to a smok tfv8 on a sigelei 213. Absolutely loved that set up, the rba in the tfv8 with vertical tiger coils in and a Cleito fat boy glass, anarchist blue in 6mg and that was my nirvana for a good while, that got me into rebuildables and since then had many other set ups, mostly budget though as had to make some life choices over the last couple of years, so now I am mostly back on mtl, with my trusty hastur mini and ehpro 101, and my dvarw atop a vaporesso armour pro, still venture into dtl with my manta Rta though, have a couple of smut coils in there and still treat myself to some anarchist blue when I’m feeling flush, that’s my story up to now !

Cant miss this one. I love my Vaporesso stuff, I have no reason to stop increasing it.

In a nutshell:
Smoked since I was 15. Never liked it too much, still got addicted. Last year, sick and tired of having bad taste in my mouth, the digusting smell of smoke, the morning cough, the harsh throat... I decided to go to a local vape shop, without knowing almost nothing about vaping. In order to quit smoking, of course.

There, the store menager showed me a few cheap starter kits, pen style, some pods... . I asked "what about that one?" pointing to a Vaporesso Luxe kit in rainbow. The guy told me, "yeah... this is a bit expensive one, but a very nice vape". He took it out of the box and I fell in love. I cant explain, it really looked a nicer thing to me. I tried it, right there, and I was amazed; my mind blown away. The liquid was a Pacha Mama Mango-pitaya-pinneaple, delicious. I will remember that first pull always.
I felt dumb inmediately. Why did I smoke??!! WHY HAVENT I TESTED THIS BEFORE?

This Luxe kit is still my faithful vape. Not a single problem with it since the purchase. Later, I discovered how many coilhead options the SKRR have, it just increased my love for it. The mod is outstanding in terms of quality and performance.

Vaping. I must confess that I jumped from one addiction to another, but at least I like this new addiction: the flavours, the hardware, the vape community.... Vape is doing two things for me: one is already done (quit smoking and never coming back) and the other is I found such an entertaining hobby with it.

How much I will vape? How knows. But Im sure I will not smoke again. Ever.

Thanks @Vaporesso , as always a very welcome giveaway. Top job, keep it up.

My vaping story started about 4 years ago.
But first, a little foreword - I wasn't some kind of a hard-smoker, but I've tried to quit smoking several times, almost reached the goal, but in the end I failed everytime. The only thing I managed to do - I've switched to hookah instead of cigarettes. Yeah, I know, it is not a reasonable decision, but at least I was not smoking pack a day.
And, finally, some day about 3 years ago I saw my friend vaping. This is it - a new start of my life.
I've bought some simple mod (seems like it was Kanger Subox) and started vaping. Oh, good old times, tons of wire and cotton used to learn proper wicking, hours and hours of online reading to understand all the ropes. Then I've dicovered that I can mix liquids myself, choose nic amount, choose flavor, choose pg\vg - everything myself. Yes, it was good, interesting and exiting. And it still is! I've switched my wife to vape also, and she is so grateful for that.
During this not so long vape-voyage we've seen so much, observed the evolution of vape devices - from small vapepens to mech-mods, big boxmods and, finally, to PODs of different kinds, and it still goes on! We've met new friends and started a life much more healthier.
Now I can't imagine how people can still smoke cigarettes, with all that disgusting and stinky smell and other so-called "benefits"
