Android app only works with VPN on 4G ?

Maybe they do block up to a certain level and I just don't know it. I've never had anything pop up on my phone. I always assumed phone browsers were somehow different than computer browsers because of the OS system. Android vs windows . Kinda like I don't think linksys users have much trouble with it either because they don't use exe files so they are less likely to be redirected.
But let me look up gag reflex on my computer and good grief the crap that pops up. But look it up on my phone and I don't get that bull crap!
