That's a perfectly sufficient amount to see the road ahead.

It's not enough to see the old lady just about to use a zebra crossing, or traffic lights, or cyclists, or other cars - actually anything outside that 10° cone of visibility...

In modern cars there are too many different functions. Buttons can detract from driving too.
