The sun and deaths in the usa

off topic alert

long story short
started overnight in 1985 and fit as a fiddle before then.
couldnt walk within 9 months
massive amount of steroids pumped into me. 60mg a day for over a year. no eye checks done.
caused a cataract in one eye only but still not checked.
1987 went to gp who said go to eye hosp casualty immediately. was in casualty for over 7 hours. introduced to around 20 different specialists (i now know they were called from various hospitals around the country just to see me).
sent home and by the time we got home there had been a call to immediately go to queens square nuro hosp and was stuck there for over a week.
as a cataract had formed they could not see the back of the eye so decided to operate within a week.
while i was under they decided to do a lensectomy which is remove my retina and replace it with a magnified one. didnt do any good and i was officially classed as partially blind as the arthritis had attacked my retinal nerve and killed it.
since then any form of arthritis diagnosed was followed up by eye checks.
move forward to 2000
lost dad to cancer. a few months later was offered a new groundbreaking TNF infusion drug that kills your immune system as it is that that is attacking my body. i refused as the consent form said risk of ms, cancer, death. fook that im not signing that.
a year later i begged the doc to get me funded for it.
had my first infusion in 2001. walked in on crutches and walked out without them.
move forward to 2016 the license for the drug is now out to tender and any fekker can make it. was forced onto the new drug which is much cheaper and now made by india or poland and ive gone down hill ever since.
in two days time i see my consultant to argue my case as the CCG are refusing to fund me being put back on the original drug as they say even though its called similar it still does the same thing.
time for a fight me thinks.

That sounds like a nightmare. I wish you every luck in your battle. To find something that helps, only to have it snatched away from you (bit dramatic, but basically is).

I'd be interested to know how you get on. Guess it will be a long drawn out process.

My woman has lupus and they fob her off on an 'almost the same' drug too, but that makes her ill whereas the original one doesn't. Seems like 'similar' drugs are a bit hit and miss, a bit like cloned tanks.

thanks fella. im not holding my breath as ive been trying for 2 years to get switched back.
sadly its across the whole nhs. after the 15 year licence is up anyone can apply to make almost any drug which are classed as similar drugs and theve switched over 15,000 around the uk i was told.

I understand why they do it of course, but they need to tidy that system up a bit, to allow for exemptions when... well in circumstances such as yours.

Holy shit! Do you ever remove the drip tip from your mouth? :D
mouth, who uses their mouth anymore. vape has expanded to other orifices :D
at weekends no your right. various driptips are in my gob all day except for when filling. but with so many mods and tanks i can get through 8 tanks so only have to fill if i want the same flavour.

8 drips plus standby that’s 16 tips and mods sounds like my perfect retirement package..
