Double Standards

So why not just simply ban tobacco if none of what i say is true. After all it's stupidly addictive and kills people. The same goes for alcohol really except anyone can just produce their own booze very simply so a ban would never work with booze. Drugs and i am now talking class a drugs are illegal for a similar purpose, ie they are addictive and kill people, ruin lives, yes they are more dangerous, but in truth the added reason they are banned is because they alter the state of the mind as well. A different approach is needed for all of these substances.

It's all a plot to hoodwink people into believing that those in charge are trying to prevent smoking or reduce the numbers who do but if it where true then they would just outright ban tobacco, yes there would be a black market but at least a ban would prevent more people from bothering and limit the number of users somewhat.
Eliquid in 10ml to stop kids drinking it well its obsurd because all people need to do is keep it out of kids reach, just like we keep other dangerous stuff like bleach and prescription meds, plus child proof lids are now part of TPD so where is the logic for the 10ml. more waste for landfills again.
2 sides to everything and you can believe either but i believe corruption rules
Faeries mate ... playing down at the bottom of your garden. :)

Nobody is arguing against Big T's corruption worldwide, just saying they didn't grease palms in order to get packs of 10 banned from sale. That's simply irrational. Move on from the prohibitionist stance, it doesn't work.

Agreed, I just don't see how this:

"Vaping ejuice maximum size shrinks to 10ml But Smokers smallest avaiable pack size is increased by removal of 10 packs."

.. is double standards? Where's the correlation? ..... and what's the relevance to each other?

... branding removed from the cigarette packets, e-liquid is allowed to have branding ....... that's double standards.

But that's the point, nobody wants e-cigs to be treated the same, so moaning when they aren't seems a bit counterproductive to me.

What do people want? ..... e-liquid can only be sold in 20 bottle boxes to discourage kids from buying it?

fuck that... that's not what I want.

Nothing works full stop in my eyes, my stance wasn't actually prohibitionist, just merely an idea and a way of putting things, todays world is all about money and the greed for it. Which is whats behind a lot of stupid rules or how they get implemented.
When i smoked if i purchased 20 fags i would get through them almost as fast as if i purchased 10 just because they where there to smoke so the idea of stopping sales of 10 won't work they used to do packs of 5 years ago and tried the same idea then it just led to people getting 10's instaed meaning more money spent and more cigarettes smoked, yes it may prevent some kids taking up smoking but all they will do now is pool together and buy 20 and share them meaning that 4 kids get 5 each instead of 2 and 2 to share between them it's a no win idea that simply won't work for a while at least. The plain packaging may eventually as it can lead to brands not being recognised as the brand to go for i doubt this as well though as some will see a fag is a fag no matter what brand.

Sadly, from what I've seen some of the stupid TPD rules were just down to ..... stupidity ...... and people with no understanding of what vaping actually entailed voting in an environment that did not encourage them to find out until it was pretty much too late to do anything about it. :(

True enough - some scientists were so shocked at the misinterpretation of their work, used in order to formulate the new regs, that they wrote an open letter of complaint to the EU, pointing out the blunders that had been made in the interpretation phase of understanding the actual scientific data.

Thank you, thata's pretty much how I saw it! :D

My OH and I run a pest control company, and sadly we've seen similar stupidity with EU regulations there. There are some species, classed as vermin in the UK (so we are not allowed to release them if trapped accidentally) but under European law they are protected ...... so we're not allowed to kill them ...... if we catch them in a humane trap we now have to feed and water them ..... WTF!!! I am, actually, an animal lover at heart (I volunteer for cat rescue) and will always go for the most humane option .... but bloody hell! Nobody gains from that state of affairs .... it's down to sheer ineptitude! :11:

I never knew that..that's nuts! I'm laughing tho coz if my mogs bring in mice that they haven't killed or injured beyond hope I spend ages running around the house until I've caught the beastie, popped it into the rodent motel (a metal humane trap I was forced to purchase on account of the fact that cardboard boxes just don't cut it even for overnight stays hehe). Mousey gets room service of dried fruit or a piece of kitty kibble soaked in water, a free overnight stay, and is escorted and freed in the local park the next morning. Probs gets eaten 4 mins later by summat in the park, but heck I do my best lmao

I'm soft as the proverbial.....lmao but the conflict of regulation created for you guys as a company is crazy. I wanted to stay in the EU coz on the wider scale some of the EU regulations protect more than just bats n' voles n' whatever...and stop our govt from treating us all like vermin. But some of this shit defies all common sense

It's the glis glis (fat dormouse or edible dormouse, only seen around Herts and Bucks) that causes us the most problems - only pest controllers with a special license are allowed to kill them, and home owners are not allowed to trap them themselves. It is indeed crazy! :D

Pest control or no, I do exactly the same thing as you if I manage to rescue a critter from the cats - a night in the critter hotel, bed and board, and then they get turfed out at the bottom of the garden next day. :)

This thread is completely derailed, and for that I apologise...but I'm too curious - @Crewella what do ya do when ya trap a glis glis (sounds like a type of pokemon to me lol) don't tell me you have a house full of cats and 'edible' dormice, dormouses? dormeeces? ;) Sounds like a recipe for disaster hehe...for the mousicles anyway :D
