I've decided to give squonking another go and unsure what build I should go for. Will be using a wasp nano on a wismec luxotic bf which is a single 18650 unregulated mod. Any help would be great.

24 gauge Nichrome Ni80 flatwire (either from FlatwireUK, or Stealth vape (known as "Brochrome")), 7 wraps, 2.5mm or 3mm inner diameter (can't remember, see what fits best), around 0.5 ohms, 8.4 amps on a fully charged cell, Samsung 30Q 3000mAh cell.

Thanks for the reply mate. Would a .5 ohm build not be a bit tame on a single 18650?

Personal preference really mate, for some it might be, for others not.... it might depend on how much airflow you like too.

It's not just about the resistance either, a flat wire nichrome coil doesn't need as much power as a big complex multi-strand coil of the same resistance.

As Simon said, it's all personal preference.

That's the build I use on all my mech/unregulated single 18650 squonkers, using small single coil RDAs (Hadaly, Entheon, Wasp, Tobhino, Holic etc). It vapes well from a full charge down to about 3.5 volts or a little less, instant ramp up, medium cloudiness, great for battery life.

It's my sweet spot, but might not be yours. The Wasp doesn't have a large chamber so low builds can get a bit hot for me.

Thanks for the replies guys. Got home from work and built the rda only to find that the mod auto fires as soon as I put a battery in. Probably my fault for leaving an rda a on it for a couple of months without using it. Juice must have leaked into the internals. Oh well, back to my single coil RTAs. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
