Just a little summary of the pro's and cons to each, from my experience. Comparing the TFV12 to the Goon RDA

RDA Pros
Fun to customise and fit the wicks
Excellent flavour
Very compact
No need to buy new coils every week

RDA Cons
Difficult to build coils for them
Spitback
Have to keep dripping each time you want a vape
Can be a bit messy

Tank Pros
No spitback
Fill up once every few hours
Easy to fit new coils

Tank Cons
Have to buy coils regularly
Prone to leaks ( Never had any with the TFV12 though )
Easy to break if they are dropped
Can be big and bulky​

What about RTA's? I find them useful. For the last few months I've been an OBS engine fanboy (there are others though, I think).

Never tried an RTA but they do look interesting

RTA's and RDTA's can be excellent with more of a best of both worlds

Yeah, I find they're handy. Most of the flavour of an RDA, but with less hassle. I got lucky and found my preference early though.

Also. Stock coil tanks are not good with high (as in 75%+) vg.
And the world of squonking has exploded so constant dripping is not the only option.

Just squonk. Best of all worlds then.

Squonking is the way to go, all the flavour of rda but less hassle if done right.

+1 for squonking. Do it right and there are no cons.

Edit: ok.. maybe a bit of a con.. some bottles are not meant to last forever and some setups are leaky.
