As a (serious) vaper, and DIY enthusiast I’ve been searching for apps that can do what I want to (do it well and do it easily), but I have not been able to get anything that fully meets my needs… So, I started to do my stuff in Excel. This soon evolved to an Access database. But being stuck to a computer is a problem, so I started to develop bits and pieces in Apps for my smartphone. I have now compiled all the different pieces into a single app – VaporSuite.

My goal is to have the ULTIMATE tools for DIY coil-builders and juice-makers, as well as help vapors to keep track of their consumables and vaping expenses.

The app is just about ready for testing. I am just busy with some final cleanup and my own vigorous testing, but it should be ready for external testing in a couple of days. I am looking for people that will be willing to help me with beta testing.

My requirements for beta testers are:
  • Have an Android Smartphone (version is not important).
  • Regularly design and make your own coils.
  • Design your own recipes and make your own juice. (Doesn’t have to do both coils and juice, but it will be beneficial.)
  • Will do vigorous testing and report back on any crashes, funnies and questionable results.
  • Give feedback on what they like and don’t like, and suggestions for improvements.
  • Willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement – valid until the app is released publicly.
Anyone interested in (or willing to do) testing can contact me here via pm. Please give a bit of information about yourself and why you would be a suitable beta tester. I will send you a questionnaire and make a final decision in a couple of days.

In the next couple of posts, I will give a short description of the app, the different modules, and some of the features.

VaporSuite_0_MainScreen.png

VaporSuite main screen: gives access to the 5 different modules:
  • Juice Recipes
  • Coil Design
  • Journal
  • Ohm’s Law
  • Vaping Achievements (shown on the main screen). This module keeps track of the motivational info: days smoke free (or days vaping), cigarettes eliminated, cost savings, etc. Makes provision for completely quit smoking, or reduced smoking.

General Features of the VaporSuite app:
  • Live calculations throughout – i.e. no need to ever click “calculate” to see the results.
  • Three-way data entry for often-changed data: number input, increment/decrement, and slider.
  • Full CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) functionality for all data tables with easy access to each.
  • Most items can be set as favorite or not, enabling all lists to be rapidly changed to show all items or only favorites.
  • Automatic backup at exit, including user selectable copy of backups to Dropbox.
  • International - User selectable currency symbol, date and time formats.
  • Notes can be added for just about everything. Note boxes expands to always show all the notes entered.
  • Help for every screen (under development).
  • Video tutorials (under development).
  • First development is for Android devices. iPhone app may be developed after that (if allowed by Apple).
  • User Interface is designed specifically for phones (smaller devices). It will work on tablets, but may not look as nice as on phones!

More detail soon...

Would love to help but my coil building skills are too limited (nothing that involves drills) and I don't diy. But looking forward to this being available in the app store. What are you hoping to set you out from what is already available?

Edit: should have refreshed my screen :D. Looks the tits! Love the detail on recipe menus maintaining stock levels! Keep up the good work I can see this being a winner! :2thumbsup:

@eshelby_dunn The installation file is just a bit over 1MB and the database (included) is about 280KB. Over time the database may grow to 1MB, depending on how much data you add.
So overall it is rather small - less than 1 photo!

What are you hoping to set you out from what is already available?
Full-featured, powerful, easy to use. The ONLY app necessary for vapor DIY'ers and Hobbyists.
