not going to have an effect on prices but will allow them to do all testing in house and ensure a top quality product..

Thornton & Ross , over the counter medicine specialists bought them

Thornton and Ross are owned by STADA so despite themselves not being a massive company they are owned by a multi billion pharma co, so not phizer levels of big but still pretty big and massive in so far as eliquid companies go.

a chat with the owner and tour of the factory starts at 18.25

It was only a matter of time before Pharma got involved in vaping. First it was the tobacco companies, now them.

While I somewhat understand why they've done this, and I agree that they're ahead of the curve in most respects I think that bringing big pharmaceutical into the industry and giving them a foothold in the industry, especially with a company that deals in such volumes as LiQuid, will potentially open floodgates for something much worse.

Not impressed.

I'd guess that the idea is that it'll be the end of the £6 for 10ml in the corner shop, which I think is a good thing for vapers.

and the start of £6 for 10ml because of monopolisation and vape taxes. I'm a glass half empty kinda guy :D

Can you really see a monopoly happening in the corner shop market?

I can't.

Go into a cornershop and ask for their own homemade lemonade. Now ask for a coke, a fanta or a sprite.

That's market dominance/monopolisation (and soon taxes because of the sugar tax) in the cornershop market for you. This acquisition shows that vaping is taking its baby steps in that direction.

I think we need to compare it to tobacco, and I don't know of any corner shops who make their own tobacco or juice.

Over the decades there has never been one outright winner selling tobacco products in corner shops, and I doubt it'll happen with juice either.
