Boosting a Shortfill?

I've just started buying shortfills but they all seem designed for nic shots to take them to 3mg, which quite frankly will not do the job.

Am I right in thinking that me adding 5ml of 72mg on top of the shots will take me to roughly 6mg?

It's 120ml shortfill. I'm putting in the 2 x nic shots to take it up to 120ml 3mg then adding 5ml of 72mg. Hopefully to take it up to 6mg....

why didnt you just put 10ml of nic and 10ml of vg/pg in then? instead of using the nic shots, adding more than 120ml will dillute the flavour a little

Because Vape Potions only sell it with the shots and I don't like to be wasteful.

Also, I don't have any VG...
