I've travelled with wire and cotton in my carry-on - no issues there. Didn't have any tools with me, though, but I don't think it would be a problem, I guess?

Yeah it's tools and wire id be concerned about but I guess hold luggage wouldn't be a problem

As long as you’re not a big cloud blower and your tank doesn’t whistle too much it’s possible to get away with a cheeky vape in most airport toilet cubicles if you exhale through a folded piece of bog roll or the sleeve of your shirt. Don’t try this anywhere like thailand or uae but i’ve found it works in several eu airports.
This isn’t advice, just my anecdotal experience. Vaping on the fly is much easier than smoking.

Actually, I was on a shuttle bus to terminal 2 at Barcelona airport a couple of weeks ago, and this guy started shouting “has anybody got any spare oil?” and looking around the bus. Turned out he was talking about eliquid, cause he then starts puffing on what looked like a smok v8 stick. Coughing profusely with every puff, obviously cause he’d run out of his “oil”. It was all a bit bizarre but nobody said anything to him.

i went to vegas in 2007 same time as the smoking ban was about to close most pubs in the UK, i chuffed like a crazy bstrd at Manc airport and chewd on about 10000 nic gums in flight, got to LAX airport and waited for connecting flight to vegas smoking my tits off out side with several other brit nic addicts, it was like shameless on acid, chain smoke apocalypse. The good old days.

I've never had any issues traveling through Europe, the US or Asia, I do have a nasty habit of not emptying the tank before flying and smelling like fruit loops.
