Ok I'll give that ago, what wattage should I finish off at?

no idea to be honest... I vape at 11w.

but the coil won't need as much power to keep it going once it's hot .....

um, 5 sec draw, try 75w, 70w, 65w, 60w, 55w or something?

you might find you can go even lower than that.... you'll have to try it and see.

On the Vaporesso Luxe it's done in 0.5 second intervals. I've set it as the first 2 seconds 75W, 3rd second 70, 4th second 65 and 5th second 60.

Works for me much better than it did at 75W for the whole 5 seconds. Might have another play with it later, but at the moment it's working fine.

I actually use a curve like the “coaching curve” occasionally.
Ramp up-full hit-ramp down
In truth I think curves are a bit of a gimmick as you can pretty much replicate with timing of firing fire button and draw. However they can reduce battery usage a smidge
