Was worried the piece of wood would split when it dried out but seems to be fine.

Raptorex its just from some big Leylandii trees we cleared from the back of the house last summer, nothing special.

Was dead easy to do, just used a hand saw and a drill. You just need half an eye for a straightish line.

Thanks for the reply. So its a soft wood conifer. Ive had problems with rings splitting in the past. So, usually, make a point asking.
