We’ve all had issues with atomisers whether it’s with stock coils or rebuildables. For the newbies out there I’m going to make a list of remedies to cure most issues you may come across.

Stock Coil Tanks:
Most stock coils out there have written on the side of the coil head the manufacturers name and a Wattage range showing what the coil can handle power wise depending on the resistance of the coil. It’s best to stay in between what the Wattage recommendation is shown on the coil.
(Example:
0.25 ohms
Best between:
70-90W)
1) Dry hits/burning taste:
If you are experiencing dry hits or a slight burning taste from your tank then check the wattage on your device, you maybe exceeding your coils recommended Wattage range cause what’s happening is that the eliquid is being vaporised faster than the coil can wick.
2) Spit back/gurgling:
If you are experiencing spit back or gurgling from your tank then check the Wattage on your device, you might not be putting enough power through your coil to vaporise the eliquid.
3) Dull taste:
If you find that you’re not getting enough flavour from your tank then try cutting down and experimenting with the airflow.
4) When you should change your coil:
If none of the above helps then you may need to change your coil. Stock coils depending on what eliquid you are vaping averagely last a week.
5) Coil lottery:
With stock coils you have what’s called the coil lottery. For every pack of 5 stock coils you buy you may find 1 or more maybe a dud.
6) Leaking:
If your experiencing leaking when you fill up your tank try shutting off the airflow when you fill your tank and re-opening the airflow once the tank is full and the top cap sealed to complete a vacuum in the tank. This may prevent or negate the leaking.

Rebuildables:
1) Rebuildable Dripping Atomisers (RDAs).

2) Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomisers (RDTAs).

3) Rebuildable Tank Atomisers (RTAs).

RDAs, RDTAs and RTAs are a lot more flexible to work with and maybe temperamental to get right.
If you are experiencing similar issues to what you would get from a stock coil tank the listed remedies above may also help with your rebuildable but there are more factors at play so if none of the above help then try looking into these remedies.
Consistent dry hit/burning taste or gurgling/spit back and even leaking:
If you are experiencing a consistent dry hit, burning taste, spit back, gurgling or leaking you may have wicked your rebuildable wrong. If the cotton feels to loose in the coil then you’re not using enough cotton (this may also cause leaking in RTAs and flooding of the build deck). If the cotton feels too tight in the coil you’re using too much cotton (this may cause dry hits and wicking issues in an RDA, RTA and RDTA).

Other issues you may come across:
Check atomiser:
If your device says (atomiser short) or (check atomiser) then check your tank. In a stock coil tank if your device says check atomiser then check if the 510 pin is making contact with the coil and make sure the 510 connector on your device isn’t crunched up. If the 510 connector is crunched up, switch your device off and play around gently with a small screw driver or tweezers on the crunched up 510 connector pin to free it (this may also apply to rebuildables).
In a rebuildable if you’re getting an atomiser short, check the build deck for any metal debris and the 510.

If I’ve missed anything out, other members will probably add more information in the comment section below.
