UK Vapefest 2017 Date Announcement

Thanks mate! See you at vapefest! Did you end up in the East Midlands too?

Nupe. Landed a job I quite like in North Wales so we're staying put. Til my size 12's get itchy again that is [emoji16]

There's are fair contingent of Apes in Notts/Leicestershire though [emoji2]

N.W. Cambridgeshire Dan, so no distance from you really. Often over that way either visiting The Reservation (Manabush) or popping in to see Ash (Huggett) at Steam Tea.:2thumbsup::2thumbsup::2thumbsup:

I suspect I will see you before vapefest then! Give me a shout any time from late April.

One thing I would like to see at this year's Vapefest is a shuttle minibus between the Vapefest site and Shrewsbury town centre.
It is a bit of a hike from the site and the centre and would be ideal for those wanting a night out in the town for a meal and a few pints.
Running between say 6pm and 11pm going back and forth on the Saturday evening every hour.
Say a fare of £1 to £2 each way with a 14 seater, it would easily cover the cost of a van and driver.
What do other Apes think, would it be possible/feasible ?

Yeah, that could be a good idea. Personally for drinking/socialising I think I prefer to stay onsite (assuming the weather is good!), but some sort of shuttle to get to the supermarket would be handy - the food was bloody expensive on site last year. Would have been nice to have a cheap option to get between the train station and the site too. I guess most people have cars though and don't need a shuttle to get to the supermarket or train station. At £1-2 a trip you'd probably have to shuttle 100-200 people a day to break even - I hired a 7 seater + driver for a day for a stag do and I think it was £150, maybe more I don't remember now. Not sure you'd get that kind of usage with so many cars on site...

Yes, you have a point that many folk will have cars on the site. But If they want to go into the town during the evening for a meal/drink, it will mean at least one person will have to be a 'designated driver'
Also, as we know the British weather can be a bit fickle even during August, so I think many folk may prefer to drink and dine somewhere warm and dry without worrying about being over the limit......and as you pointed out, the food and drink prices on the site were 'bloody expensive' so £4 to shuttle them back and forth will not break the bank.

Personally I'll not require a shuttle bus, This year I'm staying at the Vaults - most likely there'll be an ape or two there (Actualy there'll be at least two)...
