A basic variable voltage box mod that I made when I first started vaping. Not the tidiest example of a box mod. I put it together very fast when my Lava tube gave up & I had nothing else to use. I had put off building it until I had no other choice.
Volts can go up much higher than you will ever need. The mod is very cheap & easy to make. I am qualified in electronics, so perhaps it may seem easier to me than peeps who have never used a soldering iron. But once you have watched a couple of youtube vids your knowledge & confidence will grow.

The board is an LM2596 VV board. It can accept any input up to 37v. You will notice that I added a power plug. This allows me to plug it into any DC power source up to 37v, providing it has a minimum of 3 amps. So I powered it from the car + a mains power supply when at home. When the power plug is plugged in it cuts off the battery power (that's important). The output voltage that you set to the atomizer will remain the same regardless of any change to the input volts (batteries, 12 car ect).
The internal switch is for switching the voltage display meter between battery volts & vaping volts. I never included a separate charging board due to space + I like to charge the batteries outside the mod.

An important lesson that I learned is, although hot glue is ideal for building box mods, never use it to secure the 510 connector. The atty gets hot, the connector gets hot = the glue is then soft again. Therefore use Milliput to secure the 510 connector as its cheap & easy to use + ofcourse it will resist all chemicals & heat much higher than you will ever need it to. You will notice in the last pic that I have removed the hot glue & replaced it with epoxy resin to secure the 510 connector (I run out of Milliput).
(link below the pics for vids ect).

You can make the basic mod without needing to include the DC power option. if you have the time & like the versatility that it offers then go for it, its a cheap add on. You can also use a bigger box which will house bigger batteries. Or even a tin mod. Whichever you choose, the principle is the same. Just google "Box Mod" or type it into Youtube's search box & you will find detailed instructions. TBH I built mine for under a fiver :-)

Most of what you need can be had here http://www.stealthvape.co.uk/electronic-cigarette-mod-parts

Charging module boards can also be installed into the mod to charge the batteries insitu. But I wont give the details on that part, as only those who know what they are doing should be installing charging modules for lithium batteries. Getting that part wrong can result in explosion or fire.

There are other variable voltage boards ect that can be used. I have just shown the cheapest & easiest option.
