DIY Donkey Kong Mod Stand (day 2)

Took the little sanding drum attachment to the inside of Kong's arm to smooth out those rough edges.


Doesn't look that much better but was definitely smoother.


Next I mixed up a small batch of Sculpey. Used light brown, red and a tiny amount of black to try and colour match as best I could.





Looking better already. He's almost a Mod Stand!

Final stages.

Kong goes in the oven to set the Sculpey.


Kong didn't like it in the oven, his shins have taken a bashing (the plastic must be thinner there)


Fixed his legs as best I could and gave him another sand. Stuck a couple of felt pads in the holder section and tried my Nemesis for fit.


Verdict. He looks okay, not as stable as I'd like but he definitely stands of his own accord. Next time (if there's a next time) I'd hollow out the back so the mod was more propped up on him rather than him holding it. All in all I'm pretty happy (meal) with the results.
