i always find its best to leave the fill screw out,a dry wick will make the coil burn off the insulating layer of carbon/gunk so you'l get hot spots.check the mesh wick wicks before you wrap the coil,ensure you haven't made the mesh too tight/juice isn't too thick.

Thanks KMS, did try it first with the cig paper, might have cut a too bigger a bit though as it ended up not burning completely off. Just got the kanthal coil working after a bit of tweaking. Buzzing my nuts off, My that's a lot of vapour

Well the single strand of kanthal was OK for today but still a hot spot at the top, so when I got home made a twisted length of kanthal a1 to bring the ohms down a bit from 3. Works a treat, no hotspots and vaping like a good un!
