Daedalus pro help

hi I bought a Daedalus pro hoping to make my own fused Clapton wire instead of buying premade spools I've been trying to get it to work for two days and it starts off fine then when it gets to around 3cm - 4cm long it always starts wrapping over itself I've tried all the different sized fused clapton making bits and tried having the spool tight and loose and changing the speed on the drill but it always does the same thing any advice ???

There are plenty of video's covering this device but generally I found having a decent tension on the wrap spool helped, I also coiled on a glass-top table to help the shuttle glide easily.

been a long time since I did something like this but I made things easy as I had a hot air station and it helps a lot

got it to work just put it on a different surface

Having a smooth surface and decent swivels (if used) definitely helps. In my experience though unless you have problems with your fingers (arthritis etc.) then it's better to learn to do claptons etc. manually.
