The Fogstar 18350 seem to work well, but I've accidentally ordered a pipe that takes 18490 and Fogstar doesn't sell those. Any recommended 18490 batteries and suppliers? The web site suggests AW IMR18490 but they seem to have disappeared, and am I right in thinking that 18500 could be fine if the compartment will take them (side button fired rather than top button fired, and unregulated).

Well, there's only a 1mm difference in length between an 18490 and an 18500, so they might work, depending on how the battery compartment is designed.

Ecolux sell a range of 18500's and an 18490, and they are a vendor I see recommended around here sometimes, but I don't know anything about any particular cells to recommend.

I have an old Diablo One hybrid mech that was designed for AW 18490 and if I put an 18500 in it leaves a gap, so I bought 2 Yellow AWT 18490 buttontops from Ecolux if I remember correctly but Nkon could also be worth a shot.

I wonder whether 14mm spacers are a possibility so that I could stick with 18350? Not seen them but surely a 14mm magnet or off-cut of brass rod would work?

That should work as long as they don't touch the sides if it is a metal tube or you would get a short, if you can find an 18490 it would be better though. If you have 18350's give it a go, you could make spacers as long as you insulate the sides.
