i must admit i never considered using a genny without mesh, so I assumed some magic had ah happend and you got a Clapton on mesh!!

Heh, I'd figured that was a possibilty
The only alternative to mesh was silica/cotton balls at the time, but there's a bit more choice these days
And if you're vaping a coil-gunker [or just plain lazy] it's a tad more convenient...
