Hi,

I own a Dreadnaut among other mods.. and still don't yet have an ohm reader so have been using guess work for the most part with my coil builds..

I have recently swapped out my twin 24 gauge 7 wrap coils for a tripple 22 gauge single coil (12 wrap total)

I am running a Purple E-Fest Battery (26650) ..

Here are some pics of my coil build :-

The battery heats up quickly ...and the vape is tremendous...

But I wonder have I reached "Sub-Ohm" level yet ??

I have no idea on what ohm the build is ??

any tips or pointers would be greatly received :)

Thanks for checking out my thread - Martin.

If your battery heats up, STOP USING THE DEVICE before you end up with an extra hole in your body.
To measure the resistances of the coils on my Dreadnaut, I use a cheap multimeter.

This.

The battery heating up doesn't mean you've reached sub-ohm level (although I can guarantee you have). It means it's pushing the limit of the battery. Stop using it for your own safety.

You was in subohm land with just a single strand of 22g to use 3 without a basic knowledge of what your doing and no means to test it is just plain idiotic.

You are a cock...........

At a guess I would say your below 0.2

Give up now while you still have a face.

Using the coil calculator it checked in at 0.15. It's not accurate but it can't be far off. This would mean pulling 28A through a battery that's only capable of 32A (advertised).

Right...Ok, am open to productive criticism.. Can I ask what would make this build safer ? would it be better to get a higher capacity High drain battery or would it be better to go on less wrap (3 less coils) from 12 (coil wraps) to 9 coil wraps....or less ?

Dont worry I have changed onto my Big Nasty and Kayfun Lite Plus 26650..until I am clear on what to do with the above build..

Would the build be better if I used thinner gauge kanthal.. ie 24 or 26 Gauge instead of the 22 Gauge I've used so far.. ?? - Martin.

The questions that you are asking suggest that you shouldn't be doing it!

Is that safe/un-safe ??? - Martin.
