Looking for advice on mechanical mod coils

I have been using Crazy Wire's flat clapton wire for the last month or so , the NI80 is great in my mech's (Ni80 08.x0.3 with 32 wrap ) 5 wraps 2.5mm ID comes out to about 0.16 -0.18 , nice ramp up and very nice flavour.

I did buy some of that from them over Christmas But can't remember what gauge and some ni80 alien. I've not looked I'll see what I've bought later..

Cheers for that Martin

Yeah twisted is my usual for the mech because it's easy and combines a decent ramp up with a similar flavor boost to clapton over plain wire.
On the regulated I make so many wires that would just be too slow for the mech though
You should definitely try tiger wire then as imo it's better than twisted, search YouTube for twisted messes video on tiger wire.
Wirh ramp up on a mech thats where high resistance wires play the part like ni80, stainless or blends like Chaos wire.
I like to use stainless fused clapton which works perfect in a mech.

Going to have to try Tiger at some point but I just never buy flat wire, though I did get a huge box of premade coils in waiting for to see which builds I like and make my own.
I have the fused ss though just not used it in the mech yet since the only hybrid suitable rda I had was a tugboat until recently and that wasn't the best for bigger wires

I was a big fan of fused claptons with an Ni80 core - until I tried triple twisted 28/29g SS - I think the triple is important - bit like the difference between a clapton and a fused clapton. Piss easy to make too...The lazy man's fused clapton

My tugboat is an authentic v2 so it's not to bad on thicker gauge wire but last time I seen a clone there was significant difference. On the tiger wire I may have some .8 or .5 ribbon wire somewhere so if you want a go ilk send you some if I find it. If you do buy it remember it's ribbon wire you want not flat wire though sometimes it's is sold as flat so check the thickness first

Righto!.

I'm looking for some information on some nice coils for mechs.

I've got some ni80 24awg which I like but I'm just finding my feet with it I've been twisting 26/29 ss316l aiming around 0.2/0.3

But what I'm interested in is how people get aliens Claptons and the like to give a good vape in a mechanical? without the ramp up etc...

Are they ni80 alien's? etc..

I'm lost I understand alot of those pictures I see will be a shit vape just coil porn but then I read people using fancy coils in mechs.

I'm looking forward to hearing from the more knowledgeable.

Thanks
I usually just use simple 6 wrap coils on a 3mm post using 23g wire doctor. Anything fancy I just buy premade :p

If you have 29g SS, try a triple twist of it. Wound in a drill as tight is it will go. Useful to burn it with a lighter whilst held in a pair of tweezers once coiled. But it's become my go to coil.
