Coloured coils

I'm new to RDAs and I want to know how to get the famous coloured coil.
I've only got 24g kanthal at the moment and I'm buying some pre made spools of alien and fused Clapton and hive.

What type of wire do I need,
What build of the wire
And how to do it

Don't run before you can walk... Learn about wires ie: types, gauges, resistance and builds

Nail down the coil you're happiest with, building and resistance using nichrome 80, then this

You want nichrome or stainless steel for colours

Yup N80 is the old fave for this, ss does it too - with n80 it can be a balancing act when setting them up/sorting colours. Worth learning though if that's your thing.

Coloured coils. Reading this thread it has occurred to me that we must have entirely to much time on our hands.

It takes 5 minutes and I find it bloody amazing

Titanium goes nice colours as well but requires a bit of caution (and temp control).
