Is this a stupid idea?

I have a noisy cricket v1, sat collecting dust with a stuck button (thread).

Baring in mind I've never built a mod before, would it be a stupid idea to convert the housing into a squonk device? And if not, how would i do it?

Through Google I've seen it has been done but no further income as posted.

I've checked this feed but it's for the version 2. Whilst i could use the advice for the squonk side. I could do with some ideas as for what firing mechanism to use. The button on the version one is a mechanical top fire.
