Awwww, checked back after a rather grueling work day hoping for more build porn and nothing new .

If you can source some mini boxes (raw aluminium or the black one from FT properly sandblasted) you'll have me as a customer in 2015 too. With one of those made to accept a 18650 you'd create a holy trifecta: good price, excellent performance and sweet pocketability.

Raw aluminum goes grey and scratches easy. I can put an 18650 in a hana mini that not a problem.

I like the way you mounted the 510 on the green one particularly, I did a Hana box and was hoping to put in the Varitube, but I didn't realise it has such an unusual thread pitch and just used the FT adjustable 510. I could get a FD as I have a tapp for it and use noalox to keep the oxygen out, but I think long term that your method of using the nut will be a better connection.

Green one is the best way imo but I did tap and nut it, m10x0.5mm are not that hard to find. The new fat daddy's are a lot better than the varitube, the FDV's internals are designed better and more beefed up. When I use the nut I connect the negative to the nut instead of the box its a better connection than using that little screw.

Its pretty tight already between the 510 and the firing switch, you would have raise the 510 to fit a bigger switch.

didn't even think about the switch size until I looked at your build.

Am planning a hana box build with either a fat daddy or varitube 510 and was going to use this switch

16mm Nickel Plated Brass Momentary Push Button Switch

as it is not very deep so thought it would help with the limited space. just not sure If the hole required to take the switch would be too wide for the box.

Also which 510 would you recommend the FDV or the vari ?
