I may be re starting this mod ! Had some issues recessing for the faceplate and learned that I should have done the recesses before I drilled the holes out for switches and wiring etc . Learning curve and all that !!!!

Love it. Progress pictures are really neat too. I'm useless with tools or would try something similar.
